Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
We live in a society that is obsessed with ‘new,’ ‘improved,’ ‘latest,’ ‘updated,’ and ‘breakthroughs.’ If you don’t believe that, look at your phone. How long have you had it? And what about the vast number of people who stand in line-even camp out overnight to get the newest phone or gaming device? How often do you buy new clothes? A new TV?
Sure some things wear out and need to be replaced. But God isn’t one of those things. His Church isn’t one of those things. Jesus isn’t broken so we shouldn’t be trying to fix Him.
We don’t need fancy churches, performance-like worship teams, colored lights, fancy graphics and video presentations, or any of those other things in order to be the Church God set into motion on the Day of Pentecost. All we need is the Bible, a heart for God, a submissive will, and a desire to be like Jesus and nobody else.
Jesus, my prayer is that I will live each day being the person You have called me to be. Thus I will represent the Church in a way that is pleasing to You. In Your Name, I pray, Amen.
