The earth is the LORD’s, with its fullness; the world, and those who dwell in it. For he has founded it on the seas, and established it on the floods.
When you travel anywhere in the world, have you ever thought that you are in your Father’s land?
The Psalmist reminds us that the earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it: the vast oceans, breath-taking grandeurs of mountains, green pastures, beautiful flowers, singing birds, insects and fish and animals, all of them. Any people you meet in the street of your neighborhood or foreign countries all belong to God.
When you believe in Jesus, you become His son or daughter (John 1:12). You become His partner and you have the privilege to take care of the earth, including the land, the waters, the animals, and all the people whom Jesus died for.
Imagine: Your God created the earth for you personally! That Mighty Creator is actually with you through the Holy Spirit. He founded it. He established it. It is His and He has given it to His children. Let us resolve to honor and respect God’s beautiful creation.
God has charged and empowered His people to care for His earth (Genesis 2:15) and minister to the people in it (John 13:34-35). How am I doing my part in this mission?
Dear God, I am so moved when I ponder Your creation on earth. Thank You for taking care of everything in it. I praise You for specially creating me to be Your partner to take care of the earth. I resolve to do my best for You. In the name of Jesus I pray, Amen.
