You are my hiding place and my shield. I hope in your word.
Someone once told me they thought Christians were just people trying to hide their heads in the sand instead of facing the realities of life. My reply was this: I’m not hiding from life, I’m hiding from danger, harm, death, and destruction.
When you hide in Jesus, you are hiding from sin. You are putting yourself out of your enemy’s reach and into the loving arms of your Savior. When you hide in Jesus, you are resting in the arms of the One who comforts, directs, protects, and provides abundance.
It is so wonderful to have Jesus as hiding place and shield. So, you don’t need to be ashamed or embarrassed to hide in Jesus. Your hope is Jesus and He upholds you firmly, according to His word. Thus, you live a safe and abundant life no one ever imagined. You cannot stop sharing Jesus with anyone you meet because you love them and you want them to have such a wonderful blessing—to have Jesus as their hiding place and shield.
Prayer: God, thank You for being my hiding place and shield when I am surrounded in an insecure, hopeless world. Help me to do everything possible so my loved ones also have You as a hiding place. In the wonderful name of Jesus, I pray, amen.
