I have set the LORD always before me. Because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved. Therefore my heart is glad, and my tongue rejoices. My body shall also dwell in safety.
Daniel’s faith was unmovable.
When Daniel and his friends were taken captive, away from their homes, to Babylon, they were taken into the king’s court and offered food the king himself ate.
But Daniel was determined not to defile himself by eating the food and wine that was not only unclean, according to his religious practices, but had also been offered up to the Babylonian gods.
Respectfully, he asked for simple food and drink. This determination made the rest of his life one of great influence. Even kings changed their ways because of Daniel.
You can be as determined and committed as Daniel was. You can make your body healthier and stronger for the Lord and for living out His purposes for your life.
Let God lead you toward accomplishing the goals and fulfilling the mission He has for you. Join with the Psalmist in declaring the words of today’s verse: I have set the Lord always before me. Because of this, my heart is glad, I sing praises, and I will live in safety.”
With Jesus at your right hand, you shall not be moved.
What can I do to help make my faith stronger and even more unshakeable?
Dear God, You have already given me so much. Thank You for the gladness and safety You bring me! Let me show my gratitude by living up to my potential — the one You planted in me. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
