According to my earnest expectation and hope, that I will in no way be disappointed, but with all boldness, as always, now also Christ will be magnified in my body, whether by life, or by death. For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
Sin is death.
Lust, pride, envy, gluttony, and sloth all deserve death.
So why don’t we die when we do these things? Because Jesus died for our sins. We were death row inmates who were destined to be punished for our crimes. But Jesus came and took our place.
We can choose to live our lives any way we want. We can end up right back on death row if we live in sin. Or we can take Jesus’ hand and walk His path.
Paul calls Christians to lift up Christ in all things, in both life and death. Our life already belongs to Jesus; let Him use it. Death holds no fear. It merely means our struggle is over and the next thing we will see is Jesus coming in the clouds.
Jesus justifies us, purifies us, and sanctifies us. He gives us the power to overcome sin and gives us the means to help others overcome. Jesus knows what will fulfill us and make us truly happy and blessed.
Jesus wants to lead you away from a life leading to death to one that is eternally pain free. He wants to give you the strength to overcome today.
Won’t you let Him in?
What path am I on today? I will ask Jesus to guide me to a path of eternal life.
Dear Jesus, Help me to live for You. Come into my heart, cleanse it, purify it, and sanctify it. Give me the power to overcome sin and to help others overcome. Lead me toward heaven today. In Your name I pray, Amen.
