When I hear or read about people being persecuted for their beliefs and moral values, it breaks my heart, because, in each situation, the persecution stems from someone trying to impose their own beliefs as the only acceptable way to think.

Godly views are often seen as a threat, an insult and an injustice to living a modern life.

My first thought is always, “It’s not fair! Why should their rights be more important than those of others? What makes that person’s rights more ‘right’ than the rights of others?”

The truth of the matter is that it’s not fair.

It’s not fair because we live in a fallen world. Sin is present. Sin is the norm. And when anyone or anything threatens to disrupt that norm or gives sin the appearance of being bad, people get scared and push back.

I know it’s hard. I know it hurts. But I also know that when we seek the wisdom of God through personal Bible study, prayer, and worship, His justice will be our justice, too.
