Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new.
Our bodies are in a persistent state of renewal. Thanks to cell regeneration, we are continually being upgraded! But not all systems renew at the same rates.
In 10 years, the skeleton you have today will have been replaced by newer bone.
It takes between two and seven years to grow a whole “new” head of hair.
Your fingernails are renewed every six months.
In less than a month, your epidermis — the outer layer of skin — will be made entirely of new cells.
It takes a week or so for new cells in the lining of your stomach and intestines to completely replace what’s currently there.
Every minute, 100 million red blood cells (RBCs) are replaced with newer, fresher, more robust ones. You experience a complete RBC changing of the guard about three times a year.
We truly are “fearfully and wonderfully made” (Psalm 139:14).
Though it takes days, or months, or years for various systems to replenish their cells completely, one renewal is instantaneous. You can have a total makeover by doing one simple thing. Accept Christ as your Savior. Accept the grace He personally extends to you. When you are “in Christ,” He will immediately renew your spirit and your soul. In Him, you are a glorious new creation!
What would I most like Christ to renew in me?
My dear Creator, Thank You for renewing me in body, soul, and spirit. I accept Your grace. Please make me a new creation in accordance with Your will. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
