“Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you” (Isaiah 41:10). The Lord’s counsel to Isaiah is equally relevant to us today. With Christ as our guide, we have nothing to fear.
I will not be afraid: God is with me
Isaiah 41:10
Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness.
God will never fail me or leave me alone
Deuteronomy 31:8
“The LORD himself is who goes before you. He will be with you. He will not fail you nor forsake you. Don’t be afraid. Don’t be discouraged.”
God helps me live without fear
Hebrews 13:6
So that with good courage we say, “The Lord is my helper. I will not fear. What can man do to me?”
God brings deliverance
Psalm 34:4
I sought the LORD, and he answered me, and delivered me from all my fears.
I will trust God and not be afraid
Psalm 56:3-4
When I am afraid, I will put my trust in you. In God, I praise his word. In God, I put my trust. I will not be afraid. What can flesh do to me?
God is more powerful than any person
Psalm 118:6
The LORD is on my side. I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?
No matter what happens, God is my refuge
Psalm 46:1-3
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we won’t be afraid, though the earth changes, though the mountains are shaken into the heart of the seas; though its waters roar and are troubled, though the mountains tremble with their swelling. Selah.
Courage is a command
Joshua 1:9
Haven’t I commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Don’t be afraid. Don’t be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.
God holds my hand
Isaiah 41:13
For I, the LORD your God, will hold your right hand, saying to you, ‘Don’t be afraid. I will help you.’
Fearfulness does not come from God
2 Timothy 1:7
For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control.
