In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him. Without him, nothing was made that has been made.
The parable is told of a famous composer who, while walking down an unfamiliar street, heard the unmistakable sound of someone playing one of their own pieces.
They paused in front of a tiny cottage and listened.
The music stopped and a voice exclaimed, “If I only knew the rest of the song!”
The composer knocked at the door. When the owner answered, the composer said they were a musician and knew the ending.
They were ushered inside where they met the home owner’s blind sister, who had learned what she knew by listening to a neighbor play the piece, but the neighbor had moved away before she could learn the ending.
At that, the composer sat down and played the entire composition with such passion and beauty that they begged to know who he was. When he revealed his identity, they were astounded. The great composer himself!
We, too, know only in part.
Every day, new discoveries in nature are made. Could all these incredibly intricate and beautiful facets of our world, our own complex human bodies, be chance compositions?
No! There has to be a “composer,” an expert designer who put this world together, and that creator is Jesus Himself!
If we allow Him to finish His work in our lives, we will be astounded at the result.
What is my part in connecting with the Creator? What parts of my life are missing, that only Jesus can complete?
Jesus Christ, my Creator, I invite You into my life today. Please make heavenly “music” through me that blesses the world. In Your name I pray, Amen.
