“To the person who overcomes, I will give to eat from the tree of life, which is in the Paradise of my God,” Jesus promises (Revelation 2:7).
Eight times in the book of Revelation, special rewards are stated for the ones “who overcome.” God will never ask us to do something without equipping us to do it. He knows what obstacles lie before us — and He promises to provide the courage to not only meet them, but to master them as well.
My faith is stronger than my foes
The LORD is my light and my salvation. Whom shall I fear? The LORD is the strength of my life. Of whom shall I be afraid? Though an army should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear. Though war should rise against me, even then I will be confident.
Courage to overcome
I have told you these things, that in me you may have peace. In the world you have trouble; but cheer up! I have overcome the world.
God is the source of my courage
You shall not be scared of them; for the LORD your God is among you, a great and awesome God.
Courage for when I feel powerless
Haven’t you known? Haven’t you heard? The everlasting God, the LORD, The Creator of the ends of the earth, doesn’t faint. He isn’t weary. His understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the weak. He increases the strength of him who has no might.
God will not fail me
David said to Solomon his son, “Be strong and courageous, and do it. Don’t be afraid, nor be dismayed; for the LORD God, even my God, is with you. He will not fail you, nor forsake you, until all the work for the service of the LORD’s house is finished.”
My faith in God makes me fearless
When you lie down, you will not be afraid. Yes, you will lie down, and your sleep will be sweet.
Trusting God gives me courage
Behold, God is my salvation. I will trust, and will not be afraid; for the LORD, the LORD, is my strength and song; and he has become my salvation.
God will never forsake me
For he has said, “I will in no way leave you, neither will I in any way forsake you.” So that with good courage we say, “The Lord is my helper. I will not fear. What can man do to me?”
God’s spirit is not fearful
For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control.
Love eliminates fear
There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear has punishment. He who fears is not made perfect in love.
