10 Biblical Virtues I Pray My Children Acquire

Gracious Lord, You gave my precious children to me. I earnestly pray that through Jesus’ constant abiding as the Lord of their hearts, He guides them to have these Biblical virtues.
Coming close to God “Dear Lord, help my children come close to You. Let them make You their refuge.”
Psalm 73:28
But it is good for me to come close to God. I have made the Lord the LORD my refuge, that I may tell of all your works.
Prayerfulness “Lord, lead my children to pray as You did, so they can live their lives to glorify You.”
Luke 6:12
In these days, he went out to the mountain to pray, and he continued all night in prayer to God.
Self-discipline “God, I pray that my kids may lead a disciplined and prudent life, doing what is right and just and fair.”
1 Peter 5:8
Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.
A heart for mission “Gracious God, help my children to have Jesus in their heart. Let Jesus lead them to declare Your saving glory all around the world.”
Psalm 96:3
Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous works among all the peoples.
Willingness and ability to work “Gracious Lord, help my children be enthusiastic to work for Jesus rather than for men.”
Colossians 3:23
And whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men.
Agape love “Grant, Lord, that my children may learn to live a life of agape love through the Spirit who dwells in them.”
Ephesians 5:2
Walk in love, even as Christ also loved you, and gave himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling fragrance.
Courage “May my kids be courageous in their actions and in their character.”
Deuteronomy 31:6
“Be strong and courageous. Don’t be afraid or scared of them, for the LORD your God himself is who goes with you. He will not fail you nor forsake you.”
Salvation “Dear Lord, let my children enjoy the salvation that is in Christ, with eternal glory based on the following promise.”
2 Timothy 2:10
Therefore I endure all things for the chosen ones’ sake, that they also may obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.
Joy “May my children be filled with Jesus’ joy.”
John 17:13
But now I come to you, and I say these things in the world, that they may have my joy made full in themselves.
Gratitude “Lord, help my kids to live lives that are always giving thanks to God for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus.”

Giving thanks always concerning all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God, even the Father. Rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, even as you were taught, abounding in it in thanksgiving.
