Have you ever cried in the shower because you didn’t want anyone to see it? Or stayed up late when everyone was asleep and sobbed from the depths of your soul?

I have.

There was a season in my life when I cried almost every day. I felt so alone and abandoned. I honestly felt like God didn’t care.

Did you catch that? There was a lie festering in my mind: a lie that God didn’t care.

Life can be brutal sometimes, and often, in our weakest moments, the devil likes to whisper lies about God’s nature and our circumstances. He likes to make us believe that our pain goes unnoticed by God.

In reality, God does care and He notices your pain. He sees your tears.

The Bible is clear. God loves and saves you, even when you are in the depths of despair.

1 Peter 5:7 tells us to cast all of our worries on Him because He cares deeply for us. Our tears don’t go unnoticed.

Psalm 56:8 tells us that God holds our tears in a bottle. This text gives us a glimpse into God’s heart for us. He is touched by anything that causes His children pain.

In moments of despair, we are not abandoned. In fact, in those moments, God’s hands are outstretched in love, waiting to embrace you.
