Blessed be the Lord, who daily bears our burdens, even the God who is our salvation. Selah.
People’s true colors shine forth in the midst of hardships.
It is in those moments that we see who is truly with us through thick and thin, and who is a fair-weather friend.
In the middle of a number of hardships I discovered a friendship that had been growing was one that was going to be for life and it was going to be at the level of sisters. Through each hard time in college, she was there by my side. She kept me laughing, reminded me of my worth, and sat in the middle of the difficult with me. These types of friends are what our heart longs for.
While we can find people who will be this type of friend for us, we need to also remember that God has always been that for us.
Psalm 68:19 tells us that God daily bears our burdens and is worthy of praise because of that.
We have many reasons to bless the Lord. He came as a human and experienced the difficulties of human life to save us. Not only did He experience human hardships firsthand, but He is also daily bearing each of our burdens.
Like that trusted, lifelong friend, He is there to help bear our burden, to help bring us through.
Do I have a burden that I have not allowed Jesus to bear for me? How can I give that burden wholly to Jesus today? How will I plan to bless God for helping me bear my trials?
Dear God, I bless You for being with me in the midst of hardship and for daily bearing my burden. May my blessings rise in praise to You. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
