Father, Son, and Holy Spirit: three completely unique beings, having three different purposes, yet unified as one. It is a mystery They alone understand. No earthly thing can truly compare to such an otherworldly idea, but perhaps marriage comes closest — two completely unique beings, created to fulfill different needs, united in purpose, in the heart.

“It is not good for man to be alone,” God said.

He knew we humans need each other to be at our best. Men need women. Women need men. Similarly, children need parents. The old need the vitality and energy of the young. At the same time, the young need the wisdom and perspective of their elders. Christians need the church body. Humans need camaraderie.

We need each other! We need encouragement. We need help. We need reprimands. We need directing. We need hugs. Those things all require others.

We were created to be unified with people.

God set us up for families, a place to start those relationships growing, so we might begin to understand that one day we can be fully united with Him.
