The Only Thing that Can Come Between You and God Is You

Romans 8:38-39

For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from God’s love which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

God’s love for us is unconditional. He created each of us because of His love for us and He loves us because He created us. It’s a circle with no end. But how can this be? How can God love each of us so much—even the people who don’t love Him back?

God is the creator and ruler of the universe. He can’t help Himself. His holiness is greater and more powerful than death, the angels, sin and Satan. He is bigger than all of these things put together and so is His love for us.

While God will never stop loving us, the ability to feel and experience that love is up us. We have a choice as to whether or not we allow God to love us the way He wants to—the way we are designed to be loved by our creator. Do you realize what this means? It means God willingly overpowers angels, demons, sin, Satan, and even death to show His love, but He won’t force Himself on us. Experiencing God’s love happens only when we let it happen.

This leaves only one question: Why wouldn’t you let it happen?
