After forty-five years of waiting, Caleb would finally inherit the land God had promised him in his youth.

Years ago, twelve spies were sent to scope out the Promised Land. Every one came back with a negative report on how the Israelites could not possess the land — except for Joshua and Caleb.

In the face of all of those naysayers, Caleb and Joshua chose to see with eyes of faith. Why was Caleb courageous in the midst of opposition?

Caleb was courageous because he knew the power to possess the promise was in the hands of the Sovereign God of the Universe. Caleb knew that God had no equal and no rival. He was courageous because he didn’t look at his circumstances, he looked to God.

Now, years later, his faith in God was still ablaze and he was ready to possess the promise that God had given him despite the presence of mighty opposition because God’s presence was with him.

Caleb’s courage was a testament to the Israelites that God kept His promises. He showed how faith in God is a catalyst for courage.

Just like God kept His promises to Caleb, God will keep His promises to you and grant you the courage to conquer all that He has in store for you.
