Again, the Kingdom of Heaven is like a treasure hidden in the field, which a man found, and hid. In his joy, he goes and sells all that he has, and buys that field.
How would your life change if you discovered treasure?
In 2013 a couple living in what was once California’s gold rush territory discovered what is to date the greatest treasure ever unearthed in the US. While walking their dog in their backyard, they came across a rusted can sticking out of the ground filled with gold coins. Soon they found eight other cans scattered throughout their yard.
Inside was over 1,400 pieces of gold in near mint condition, worth over 10 million dollars! To their great joy, California law has enabled the couple to own their find.
Are you a treasure hunter? Are you seeking the best in life, the best for your health and your relationships, the things that will bring out your full potential, that will give your heart satisfaction?
If you ever felt you had to work your way to Heaven, or believed you weren’t lovable, weren’t forgivable, weren’t capable – if you’ve been hopeless or heartless – then finding God’s kingdom, finding the unconditional love of God, learning that He cares, that He listens, and that He has a plan for you, is the greatest treasure you could find.
God’s kingdom will do more to better your close-knit relationships, your finances, your perspective, your health, and your feelings about yourself than any chest full of gold.
You created all the treasure in this world.
All I have is Yours.
May I always remember that Jesus is the greatest treasure of all.
I pray in Jesus’ name, Amen.
