Key to Paradise

by Heather Tietz

Luke 23:42-43

He said to Jesus, “Lord, remember me when you come into your Kingdom.” Jesus said to him, “Assuredly I tell you, today you will be with me in Paradise.”

Crucifixion has been said to be the cruelest form of corporal punishment, a death of agonizing pain, suffocation, and literally a broken heart.

Jesus knows the torment this human body can undergo. He suffered the excruciating pain and suffering of the cross so you can be with Him in Paradise.

We can’t fathom life in Paradise.

Here on Earth, we can’t find Paradise with our own eyes. It can’t be seen through a telescope. It can’t be drawn on a map. Only Jesus knows the way. We can get there only through Him.

Paradise is God’s residence. It is Jesus’ home.

Like the sinner on the cross, you are invited.

Since you accepted Jesus as your Savior and Lord, you can go through the open door of Paradise. Yes, when you have Jesus, you have the key to Paradise. And Paradise is your home.

Reflection

How can I accept Jesus, Who paid the price for Paradise? How do I feel about going away from this Earth and being with Jesus forever?

Prayer

Loving heavenly Lord, I need Jesus, who is the key to Paradise. Help me depend on Him all the time and live as Jesus did. I pray in the name of Jesus, who is preparing my eternal home, Amen.
