Ants are renowned for their diligence.

Most spend the warm months of the year gathering food. Then, as the weather cools, they huddle together in a mass so they can hibernate through the colder months. No parties or holidays for them! Their lives are eating, drinking and working. All 12,000 species of ants are destined to live like this.

It is not the same with people. Not everyone is blessed to be able to eat and drink regularly, or to have the mind and body capable of working.

Harsh climate, poor soil, polluted water, and sickness rob 80% of the people in our world from the simple pleasures of eating, drinking, and working.

If you have access to fruits and vegetables, grains and legumes, if you are able to drink clean water throughout the day, if you have chosen your vocation and have a healthy body to enjoy it, then you are gifted from God. You are living in pleasures that most will never share.

Perhaps sometimes we feel like ants, working so diligently for crumbs. But our leaky faucets, dirty kitchens, and tired hands are evidence of our blessed lives. Thank God for His gifts to you.
