“Look to me, and be saved, all the ends of the earth; for I am God, and there is no other.”
Moses had to lift the bronze snake up to save the Israelites from dying because of their blatant disobedience to God (Numbers 21:4-9).
Later, Jesus was raised up on a cross to save the world — you and me — from dying forever because of our blatant disobedience.
And as Moses lifted up the bronze snake on a pole in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up so that everyone who believes in Him will have eternal life.
John 3:15
Many were saved because of the bronze snake. Many more will be saved by looking to the cross and accepting Jesus Christ as Savior. In today’s verse, Jesus calls to each of His children: “Look to me, and be saved.”
Yes, fix your eyes only upon Jesus, then salvation and His lovely bliss will follow you forever!
Sing with Helen Lemmel’s beautiful lyric:
Turn your eyes upon Jesus.
Look full in His wonderful face.
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim.
In the light of His glory and grace.
How do I go about fixing my eyes upon Jesus? What blessings does God promise me when I look to Christ?
Dear Lord, You are God. There is no other. Please help me keep my eyes always fixed on Jesus. Guide my thoughts and my actions as I continue to grow in every way in Christ. Thank You for loving me. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
