“Look to me, and be saved, all the ends of the earth; for I am God, and there is no other. I have sworn by myself.”
Moses had to lift the bronze snake up to save the Israelites from dying because of their blatant disobedience.
Later Jesus was raised up on a cross to save the world, you and me, from dying because of our blatant disobedience. “And as Moses lifted up the bronze snake on a pole in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up so that everyone who believes in Him will have eternal life” (John 3:15).
Many were saved because of the bronze snake that day. Much more will be saved by looking to the cross and accepting Jesus Christ as Savior. Could you fully response to Jesus’ intimate calling “Look to me, and be saved, [put your name here]” (Isaiah 45:22)?
Yes, only fix your eyes upon Jesus, then salvation and His lovely bliss will follow you forever! Let’s sing with Helen Howarth Lemmel’s beautiful lyric:
Turn your eyes upon Jesus.
Look full in His wonderful face.
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim.
In the light of His glory and grace.
As we love Jesus our Savior and live in Him, we shall “grow up in every way to Christ, who is the head” (Ephesians 4:15).
Prayer: LORD, help me look at Jesus always so I shall grow up in every way to Christ. In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen.
