To the end that my heart may sing praise to you, and not be silent. LORD my God, I will give thanks to you forever!
My wife was having difficulty recovering from a severe bout of malaria.
My wife loves to travel. Fearing we might never again have the chance to travel together if her health deteriorated, I booked a tour to South America. Our guide, Julie, made the tour a series of healing moments.
During the trip, my wife’s health improved dramatically.
About two months later, we went on another tour with Julie, this time to Russia and Northern Europe. In that time, my wife healed completely. She became as lively as before her illness.
Four years later, I told Julie of her role in my wife’s healing and expressed my gratitude to her.
She was surprised. She hadn’t known the part she played in my wife’s recovery.
Back at home, via social media, I shared how Jesus healed my wife through Julie’s tours.
I continued writing, with gratitude flowing from the deepest part of my heart. Julie responded: she said she felt as if God was talking and empowering her through my words of thanks.
This is how it is with God. When we recognize what He has done for us, we cannot keep our gratitude to ourselves. We must share it — with others and with Him. That attitude of thankfulness multiplies, spreading outward to everyone we meet and coloring everything we do.
How can I express my gratitude to my close friends today? How can I express my gratitude to Jesus for saving me?
Dear gracious healer God, Thank You for Your love and power. Please help me find gratitude every day. In the name of Jesus, the great physician, I pray, Amen.
