In Exodus 33:18, Moses asked God to show him His glory.

In the course of His reply, the Lord said that there would be limits to His revelation, including hiding His face (verse 19). Nevertheless, He promised to show Himself to Moses.

Ultimately, in passing by, the Lord announced a representative list of His most prominent attributes: compassion, grace, slowness to anger, longsuffering, truth, forgiveness, and justice (see 34:6-7). In declaring His altruistic characteristics, God gave Moses His name and showed him His glory.

Some people in this world seek to make life difficult for others.

Too often, I have made my own life difficult through poor choices and going against God’s will. That’s why I appreciate the forgiveness and mercy God has lavished on me, as well as the consequences He has caused me to face. Through these learning experiences, He has increased my safety and peace.

Because of our Father’s benevolence and grace, we can consider Him our strong tower. We can find comfort, security, and safety in His caring arms. He is able and willing to protect us from all our enemies, including the biggest enemy of all — ourselves and our weaknesses. Praise His name, His glory, His being!
