Those who know your name will put their trust in you, for you, LORD, have not forsaken those who seek you.
Have you ever gotten phone call offers where an automated message is played? Or those emails that say “You’ve inherited millions of dollars! All you need to get it is pay a small postage fee”? Many of these things are scams and people shouldn’t trust the messages or the emails. If I get a phone call from my friend’s number or an email directly from my bank, then I pay attention to the message. Why? I trust because I know the person or organization contacting me. How can we trust in God if we don’t know Him?
We can know God by reading His Word, just like you’re doing daily here. We can know God by spending time in nature. We can know God by how He’s worked in other people’s lives. We can know God by praying and talking to Him right now.
God already knows everything about you. He put you together in your mothers’ womb, has a count of all your hairs on your head (and body), and risked losing His Son’s life just so that you can have a chance at eternal life. God knows the struggles you have, the heartache, and disappointment. He understands your pain, frustration, and fears. God has a million plans to help you, ready and waiting. But He can’t work unless you trust Him.
Won’t you trust Him today?
Father in Heaven. Please help me to know You as the wonderful, merciful, loving Creator God. Help me to trust You so that You can work wonderful miracles in my life. Thank You for hearing and answering this prayer, because You are faithful. In Jesus’ Name, I pray, Amen.
