An eagle mother decided one day that her eaglets were big enough to fly.

They’d been hopping around the nest for weeks. Now it was time to see what their wings could do. She hovered above them for a moment, then plopped down on the nest and shoved one baby off.

The young bird plummeted down, only to be rescued by mamma a moment later, when she swooped beneath and caught him on her back.

“This is a bad game,” thought the eaglet.

Next, the mamma eagle pushed the sibling off the nest and again swooped down to rescue it.

Below, mother wolf watched. “That mamma is crazy,” she thought.

“What a monster!” said a dumbstruck snake.

The mamma eagle flew back to her nest and began picking the feathers out, then the supportive sticks and twigs. Finally, all of it was reduced to scraps. Her eaglets had nowhere to sit safely.

Tottering on the edge of the mighty pine, both eaglets leaped off and took to the sky. Mamma Eagle proudly watched. Her flying lesson was a success!

The perspective from the ground is a narrow one. Our judgments of people will always be inaccurate. Only God has a true bird’s eye view of life.

Only He has a right to judge.
