That if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes resulting in righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made resulting in salvation. For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes in him will not be disappointed.”
Three teenage girls were having the time of their lives at the amusement park, riding water slides, the scrambler, tilt-o-whirl, and a few rollercoasters.
But there was one ride — the really big rollercoaster — they hadn’t attempted yet. Two of the girls were eager to do so, but the third wasn’t sure.
“See everyone riding?” her friend asked. “Don’t you believe it’s safe?”
“I believe it’s safe,” the girl replied, “but I also believe there’s no guarantee it will stay that way.”
Believing in Jesus as your Lord and Savior is not merely a matter of believing He exists and is capable of doing what He says He will do. Believing in Jesus as your Lord and Savior means you know without a doubt that He loves you. He died to save you. He is willing to move heaven and earth for your benefit. It means realizing that if you were the only person in need of saving, He would have endured the cross for you. It is putting your complete trust and faith in Him, knowing He is incapable of breaking a promise or speaking an untruth.
True Belief = Complete Faith = Total Obedience = Eternity in Heaven
What would I say to someone who told me that God disappointed them? How would I help them understand that God works all things for our good?
Dear Jesus, Please find me faithful, fully trusting in Your grace each day. I confess that You are my only Lord. You will never disappoint me. In Your name I pray, Amen.
