One Christmas, some Costa Rican families invited my wife and me to their yearly vacation.

We went to the beautiful Playa Coyote, on the west shore of Costa Rica.

An almost endless beach welcomed us. We walked and talked. Sometimes, we sang or swam in the refreshing natural swimming pool.

We saw beautiful palm trees. Seagulls and other birds were flying and singing. From time to time, we heard howling monkeys in the far distance.

While others walked, I stayed behind. I wanted to have a short time alone, visiting with Jesus.

In the clear water, I saw a small blue crab. Before I could get a good look at it, it moved quickly to another spot.

I saw hundreds of small baby crabs creep on the sand. When I approached too close to them, they all disappeared by quickly digging deep down into the sand. I tried, but could not catch any of them.

I talked to Jesus, praising Him for all the vibrant lives He placed there.

No matter where you are, Jesus is with you now. He cares for you as He does for everything He created. You are His favored child.
