I never wanted to have more than one child.

Since childhood, I had only wanted to be the mother of one son. Maybe it was because I never felt like I had a knack for kids or that I was the “baby” in my family. I’m not sure why, but that was my plan for my adult life.

After my first pregnancy ended in an unexpected miscarriage, I was more open to God’s plan for my life. To my surprise, that plan included three children.

Children are a gift from God.

We live in a world where children are sometimes looked upon as a chore and challenge. Often, as parents, we complain about the struggles and do not praise God for the blessings of parenting.

There’s no denying that raising children is no easy feat, but a deeper look at God’s Word shows us that children are gifts straight from heaven.

Each child is a unique and distinct gift from God and a reminder of His divine favor. No two children are alike. It’s clear to see that each person is fearfully and wonderfully made as a testament of God’s marvelous handiwork.

God has given parents a heritage and a reward by granting them the gift of children. As a result, He works with us to raise them for His honor and glory.
