Continue the Chain Reaction

by John Michalak

Romans 10:14

How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? How will they believe in him whom they have not heard? How will they hear without a preacher?

The world’s most powerful weapon of destruction is the nuclear bomb.

The bomb uses fission — permanently ripping apart atoms that were meant to be together — and destroys through a chain reaction. Splitting one atom splits another atom, and so on, releasing a level of energy and power that desolates anything in its path.

Jesus Christ once started His own chain reaction, but not one that destroys. Through His words and through His sacrifice on the cross, He released the most powerful positive force for good the world will ever know in an impact wave that continues to create new life.

You play a part in this chain reaction.

Jesus spoke His Word to His apostles, they spoke it to others, and somehow, over the centuries, it eventually reached you.

With the new life you’ve been given, it’s the most natural thing to speak it to others — to continue this chain reaction — to send shock waves of eternal life throughout your neighborhood and your world.

So, react appropriately to the new life you’ve been given. Pass His Word on to those who so desperately need to hear Good News.

Reflection

Do I ever feel insecure about sharing the love of Christ with others? How has His love been shared with me? How can this help empower me to continue the chain reaction with those I know?

Prayer

Dear Lord, I am so grateful to those who made it possible for me to hear the Good News of Your love. Help me to pay it forward, telling those with whom I come in contact about the wonderful things You have done. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
