I see righteous rejoicing all the time in four of my friends.

They come from different economic backgrounds and family situations. None of them look alike, and their personalities are different. But there is one very distinct similarity in these four ladies. All four know what it is to live a life of glad rejoicing.

“M” didn’t wallow in self-pity when her eye surgery didn’t go as planned. She rejoices that she can still see at all and knows God is in control. She is also one of the most generous people you will ever meet.

“J” doesn’t let her still-new grief keep her from rejoicing that her church family is there to help in her recovery from surgery.

“V” doesn’t sit at home feeling sorry for herself. She shares her joy in the Lord by volunteering to love on those who are less fortunate.

Last, but definitely not least, “G” joyfully helps family and friends, saying that as long as the Good Lord blesses her with a sound mind and body, she’s going to use them for Him the best way she knows how.

Through them I continue to learn what it means to have joy in serving Jesus.

Let us all exult with righteous rejoicing!
