”I, the LORD, have called you in righteousness. I will hold your hand. I will keep you, and make you a covenant for the people, as a light for the nations.”
The promise God made in Isaiah was realized in the life of Jesus. Jesus came to teach us and to die for our sins. When we accept this precious gift of salvation, we receive within us the Holy Spirit who holds our hand so that we can be the light God has called and equipped us to be.
God, the creator, and master of the universe loves us so much that He is always ready to be a hand-holding presence in our lives, if we will allow Him to be. So don’t be afraid to let your light shine for God. He will always enable you to accomplish His will—and being a light is His will.
Prayer: LORD, Your directions are always right because you always know what is best. So give me the strength and courage I need to submit myself completely to you. Make me the light you created me to be. In the name of Jesus I pray, amen.
