If you are willing and obedient, you will eat the good of the land.
I had to be on the road by 4:30 a.m.
That was early enough on its own, but because of a difficult situation I was dealing with, I had gotten about two hours of sleep the night before.
I made it through the four-hour event, but when I started the two-hour drive home, it hit me: I was exhausted!
I could feel myself getting sleepier and sleepier, despite the big cup of iced tea I was drinking and having the air conditioner blasting cold air on me.
I prayed, “LORD, please let me get home without hurting myself or someone else.”
No sooner had I finished praying than my phone rang. A friend was calling to see if I was going to eat dinner that evening with some of the other ladies from church.
Talk about a wake-up call… literally! I thanked her for calling when she did. I told her she was God’s answer to my prayer for a boost of energy and alertness I needed.
Coincidence?
No way!
Luck?
Absolutely not!
That phone call was God’s way of giving me the joy of being safe in Him, and you can be sure I am still thanking Him for what He did for me that day.
How often do I give God credit for the protection He provides me? How often do I rejoice that He had kept me safe?
Dear God, Thank You for always watching over me and for stepping in when I am helpless to help myself. The safety of Your love and protection fills me with joy. In Your Son’s name I pray, Amen.
