We are pressed on every side, yet not crushed; perplexed, yet not to despair; pursued, yet not forsaken; struck down, yet not destroyed; always carrying in the body the putting to death of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body.
2 Corinthians 4:8-10
Today I simply want to share with you the chorus to an old hymn—one that beautifully and eloquently sums up the reward for anything unpleasant, hurtful, or even dangerous we experience here on earth because of our love for Christ.
It will be worth it all when we see Jesus.
Life’s trials will seem so small when we see Christ.
One glimpse of His dear face; all sorrows will erase.
So bravely run the race, till we see Christ.
Prayer: Father God, help me do just that—bravely run the race. Help me stand strong against anything that tries to sway me away from You. Help me move past anything that tries to block my path of following You. In the name of Jesus, I pray these things, amen.
