Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap according to kindness. Break up your fallow ground, for it is time to seek the LORD, until he comes and rains righteousness on you.
One of the parables Jesus told was a man who found a treasure in a field. The field wasn’t his, so he sold everything he owned in order to be able to buy the field containing the treasure.
The treasure in Jesus’ parable symbolizes the treasure of salvation. The fact that the man sold all he had to be able to possess the treasure is symbolic of the fact that in order to receive salvation through Jesus we must give everything…our whole self to Jesus.
When you give yourself to God by accepting Jesus as your Savior, you become ‘fallow ground’; ‘ground’ with tremendous potential to do God’s will. The question is: will you let Him rain His righteousness on you so that you can do God’s will for your life?
Pray
God, show me Your Will for my life. Make me into the treasure You created me to be. In Your Son’s Name, I pray, Amen.
