Empty Tomb…Full Heart

by Darla Noble

Luke 24:2-3

They found the stone rolled away from the tomb. They entered in, and didn’t find the Lord Jesus’ body.

One of my favorite songs growing up in the Church was “I’ve Got The Joy, Joy, Joy.” The first line of the song goes like this: I’ve got the joy, joy, joy, joy; down in my heart. Another verse of the song went like this: I’ve got the love of Jesus, love of Jesus; down in my heart.

I loved (and still do) the peppy rhythm and words of this song because it reminded me that Jesus is real. It reminded me that the tomb really was empty because He is alive…and that this fact is something to celebrate with our whole heart, soul, and mind.

The tomb was empty because Jesus was no longer dead. He was alive…and He still is! Jesus is alive and He is our victory over sin and death. Because Jesus is alive we can also live with Him for all eternity!

Pray
Father, thank You for sending Jesus and for His death, burial, and resurrection on my behalf. In Jesus’ Name, I pray, Amen.
