Once, when I worked in the loan department of a bank, a customer called who wanted to pay off their small personal loan.

After I figured the payoff and told her what it would be, she said, “That can’t be right.”

I checked my work. It was right. Next, the woman asked what the interest rate was on the loan. When I told her, she responded, “That can’t be right.”

It was.

Lastly, she asked, “What was the original amount of the loan?”

My answer: $5,000.

“Are you sure?” the client asked.

Being young and full of confidence, I said, “Ma’am, why did you call? You haven’t believed anything I’ve said, even though I have the loan agreement right here in front of me.”

After several seconds of silence, she finally mumbled, “I’ll be in tomorrow to pay it off.”

All too often we are just like that woman when it comes to our relationship with God. We say we believe God sent Jesus to be the sacrifice for our sins, yet we doubt most everything else He says. Things like, “Never will I leave you…” “Tithe and I will bless you with much.” “Trust Me. I know what’s best.”

If you believe God has saved you, then you also need to believe God can sustain you.
