While serving your country, never forget that — above everything else — serving God comes first. His Word in your heart gives you the courage, strength, and peace to “fight the good fight” and follow in Jesus’ footsteps wherever the Holy Spirit leads.
I have the peace of Jesus with me at all times; I will not be afraid

Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you; not as the world gives, I give to you. Don’t let your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful.
God is my refuge; I trust Him and He delivers me
Psalm 91:1-3
He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust.” For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler, and from the deadly pestilence.
I fear nothing; God has put His angels in charge of me, to guard me
Psalm 91:5-6, 10-11
You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day, nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor of the destruction that wastes at noonday. No evil shall happen to you, neither shall any plague come near your dwelling. For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways.
God is my refuge; He makes wars cease
Psalm 46:1, 9-11
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. He makes wars cease to the end of the earth. He breaks the bow, and shatters the spear. He burns the chariots in the fire. “Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations. I will be exalted in the earth.” The LORD of Hosts is with us. The God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.
God's armor enables me to withstand the devil's forces
Ephesians 6:11-13
Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
My courage and strength stem from a foundation of God’s love
1 Corinthians 16:13-14
Watch! Stand firm in the faith! Be courageous! Be strong! Let all that you do be done in love.
Because of my faith I am fearless

My God comforts and leads me; His plans for eternity include me
Psalm 23:1-6
The LORD is my shepherd; I shall lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He guides me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me.
