We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose.
I once found myself in a difficult situation — one in which my younger brother’s friend accused me of something I did not do.
I tried talking to him, but he twisted my words and it ended up making everything worse.
In an effort to keep my mind off my problem, I spent all my time working on a term paper. When I turned the paper in, the professor was so impressed with the work that he gave me an A. Not only that, he also recommended me to be the Greek teacher at the Seminary, replacing the professor who was leaving. I taught Biblical Greek three semesters — an experience I will never forget and one that brought a lot of good to my life.
When I look back at how I was falsely accused, it still hurts, but I also realize the good God brought to me in that situation. I poured myself into my studies in an attempt to keep from focusing on the bad things that were happening. As a result, I was not only recognized as an outstanding student, but I was also given the opportunity to help other students.
I cannot deny it is a painful memory, but I can see that all things worked together for good — even in a bad situation.
What do I need to let go of to realize the good in a difficult situation in my life?
Dear Lord, Please help me firmly believe that You will make all things work together for good for me. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
