My son, let them not depart from your eyes. Keep sound wisdom and discretion, so they will be life to your soul, and grace for your neck. Then you shall walk in your way securely. Your foot won’t stumble. When you lie down, you will not be afraid. Yes, you will lie down, and your sleep will be sweet.
Have you ever experienced a moment when a small child takes your hand when they are scared, unsure, or in need of someone to steady their steps?
I have, and I can tell you there aren’t many things that tug at your heart quite like being needed by a child — to know that they are putting their trust in you.
So what do I do at times like this?
I protect them.
I steady them.
I reassure them.
Why wouldn’t I? I love my little ones more than life itself.
God’s love for us is that same kind of love, but of an even greater magnitude (if you can imagine that)! He is always there to protect, instruct, steady, lead, and reassure us of His presence.
When you put your hand in His, and trust your heart to Him, He will be there 24/7 and you will never need to be afraid or feel alone ever again.
Have I experienced a spiritual “stumble?” What factors led to it? How did I find my way again?
Dear Lord, Please let me feel Your presence today. Give me a heart that seeks Your will for my life every day. Help me always keep my hand in Yours. Please bless me with sweet sleep tonight, safe in Your arms. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
