Purposeful Actions…Purposeful Life

by Darla Noble

Isaiah 55:10-11

For as the rain comes down and the snow from the sky, and doesn’t return there, but waters the earth, and makes it grow and bud, and gives seed to the sower and bread to the eater; so shall my word be that goes out of my mouth: it shall not return to me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing I sent it to do.

Everything God does has meaning and purpose. Each intricate detail of nature…the human body…every aspect of creation has a distinct purpose for being. Even yawning (something we take for granted) has a purpose—actually a few purposes. Yawning pushes excess carbon dioxide from our lungs and pushes more oxygen into our lungs and brain; making us more focused.

Nothing created was created ‘just because’ or by accident or chance…including Y-O-U! God created you knowing exactly what He wants you to accomplish in this life—what He wants you to do, the career you are best suited for, where He wants you to live, who He wants you to love…everything. But God won’t force Himself or His will on anyone, so if you want to reap the benefits of living the life you were created to live it’s up to you to ask God to take you there.

We don’t always understand why God does what He does. But we know God’s plan to you:

For I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”

Jeremiah 29:11

With this great promise of God, now we can sing:

All the way my Savior leads me Cheers each winding path I tread

Gives me grace for every trial Feeds me with the living Bread

You lead me and keep me from falling You carry me close to Your heart

And surely Your goodness And mercy will follow me

And surely Your goodness And mercy will follow me
