A Korean husband met his wife after 55 years of being separated because of the Korean War.

Their reunion was joyous. Words could not express the emotions they felt in being reunited after so many years.

While this happy reunion is definitely a cause for joy, imagine the joy we will feel when we come into the presence of Jesus!

Today’s verse is a quote from the psalmist, King David, about the matter: “You will show me the path of life. In your presence is fullness of joy. In your right hand, there are pleasures forever more” (Psalm 16:11).

You too can experience fullness of joy in God’s presence.

The challenges of meeting our daily obligations at home and at work, however, often get in the way. We let these things monopolize our time, leaving little or no time to be filled with the joy that only Jesus can provide.

Today, I encourage you to make time to rest in Jesus’ presence. You may need to silence your phone or cancel an appointment, but any time spent with Jesus will be more than worth it. In the quiet of His presence you will find real joy.
