I remember “Show and Tell” in primary school.

To sharpen our speaking and presentation skills, each student had to decide on an object to speak about in front of the class. We weren’t supposed to use our words alone; we had to provide actual evidence or give a demonstration of the subject matter.

How I dreaded Show and Tell!

I had to rummage for topics that would interest my listeners and then find artifacts to support my delivery.

However, frustration turned to anticipation — an opportunity to look forward to — when I latched onto a topic that I was excited about. I became oblivious to the audience’s staring eyes when I got lost talking about something that actually interested me.

Even in my adulthood, if I happen upon a terrific sale or delectable eatery, I just cannot keep the discovery to myself. I must tell someone! When I am excited about something, I can’t wait to talk about it. I can hardly sit still until I have spread the news to my friends or anyone who will hear.

I imagine that the natural outgrowth of the longing plea, “Oh, give thanks to the Lord,” is to, “Make what He has done known among the peoples.”

Today, why not Show and Tell God’s goodness?
