The Active Power of Peace

by Pastor Ken

Colossians 3:15

And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body, and be thankful.

Jesus’ disciples faced an uncontrollable storm in the Sea of Galilee.

Peter, the professional fisherman, did his best to manage the boat safely, but the ship was almost sinking.

When lightning flashed, they saw Jesus was sleeping. They woke Him up and asked Him to save them.

Jesus calmed the storm. The disciples found the peace Jesus provided and thus they found themselves filled with tranquility and joy (Mark 4:37-41).

Do you sometimes feel your life is almost like the disciples’ sinking boat?

Remember: Jesus is with you.

Ask Him to save you. Then His peace will be an active power in your life. Rather than dealing with all life’s difficult situations on your own, let Jesus handle them.

Jesus whispers to you, “I am here. I know you have confusion, uncertainty, and an inability to manage your life. Give your burdens to me. Take the peace I give you now.”

Jesus’ peace is palpable. He heals any illness, opens the eyes of the blind, gives eternal life, fights for you, calms life’s storms, enables you to do everything for His glory, and makes all things good.

Stand up! Stay tall in your faith in Him. He will never fail you. He will continually give you peace.

Reflection

What changes do I need to make to become more reliant on God’s power instead of my own?

Prayer

Dear Jesus, I love You. I cling to You, staying close to You because You give me strength. You are my hero. I long for Your peace. In Your name I pray, Amen.
