God reigns over the nations. God sits on his holy throne.
In Bible times, and even into the days of medieval kings, if the king was standing at a distance watching battles take place between his army and the army of his enemies, the outcome was still undecided. It wasn’t yet clear who would win.
But if the king was seated on his throne, he was sitting because he was fully confident that victory was his. All that was left to be done was to tidy up the “loose ends.”
In the Bible, God is never standing, looking out over His army to see what is happening. He is always seated on His throne because victory is already His.
The battles are many, but the war has been won. We are just waiting until the day God decides to say it is time to celebrate for all eternity.
I know our world is full of more sin, violence, hatred, greed, and evil than most of us can begin to understand.
Sometimes it is almost overwhelming to watch or read about what is happening. But in spite of it all, God reigns!
He is seated on His throne. We have victory in Jesus!
How can I give Jesus the victory today in my life?
Dear God, Please reign over me as You do over the nations. I want Jesus to have complete victory in my life. In the name of Jesus I pray, Amen.
