Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, and whose trust the LORD is. For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, who spreads out its roots by the river, and shall not fear when heat comes, but its leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.
Beth knew in her heart that Bible College was where she needed to be.
Children’s ministry was all she’d wanted to do since junior high. But one thing after another kept going wrong. It was a classic case of “one step forward and three steps back.”
She was supposed to go home for Thanksgiving, but her car broke down. She didn’t have enough money to get it fixed and had to spend her gas money on mac and cheese bowls and cheap bottled water.
As she sat in her dorm room feeling sorry for herself, questioning whether or not she was doing God’s will for her life, someone knocked on her door.
A youth group from the church she attended had decided to have a Thanksgiving weekend for students who couldn’t go home. Beth enjoyed a dinner fixed by a group of amazing godly women, games, service projects, and fellowship. It was the best Thanksgiving she ever had.
It was also an answer to prayer: the next week at church, the elders asked if she would like to intern as their children’s minister in exchange for them paying her tuition for the two years she had left to complete her degree.
God’s green thumb waters us when we are thirsty, nourishes us with His blessings, and grows us in faith when we put our trust in Him.
Thank You for Your constant care.
Without it, I would be nothing.
I praise Your holy Name.
In Jesus’ Name, I pray, Amen.
