It shall be said in that day, “Behold, this is our God! We have waited for him, and he will save us! This is the LORD! We have waited for him. We will be glad and rejoice in his salvation!”
This verse is triangular prophecy, so to speak. The verse prophesies Israel’s return to Jerusalem, the coming of the Messiah, Jesus Christ, who is the salvation for our sins, and finally, it is a prophecy of His Second Coming.
The return of Israel and the birth, ministry, death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus are historically documented. We know they are true. Yes, many deny the reality of Jesus’ miraculous life, but it is true. Jesus lived, died, and was resurrected!
Because these prophecies were fulfilled, we have no reason to question that the third one will be fulfilled, as well. Jesus is coming back some day. He is coming to take those who rejoice in His salvation to heaven. The question is, will you be rejoicing when He comes?
Billy Graham said, “Our world is filled with fear, hate, lust, greed, war, and utter despair. Surely the Second Coming of Jesus Christ is the only hope of replacing these depressing features with trust, love, universal peace, and prosperity.”
Pray: God, help me to prepare Jesus’ Second Coming through daily faithful communication with Him. So that when the roll is called up yonder, I’ll be there to see my wonderful Savior in glory. In Jesus’ precious name, I pray, amen.
