God’s Will Is Prosperous

by Pastor Ken

Psalm 35:27

Let those who favor my righteous cause shout for joy and be glad. Yes, let them say continually, “May The LORD be magnified, who has pleasure in the prosperity of his servant!”

Today’s verse says that the LORD has pleasure in the prosperity of his servant. In other words, when you prosper, God is happy.

The question many ask when they read this verse (and others like it), is this: If God wants us to be prosperous, why am I struggling financially?

The answer to that question is this: God understands that real prosperity consists of a lot more than monetary wealth and material possessions. God understands that real prosperity is being emotionally, spiritually, physically, mentally, and intellectually rich. God understands that real prosperity is having a personal relationship with Him, taking care of your body, enjoying emotionally healthy relationships, using your mind and the abilities you’ve been blessed with to be successful in your career.

God wants to bless each of us by making us prosperous, but in order to do so we have to be close enough to Him to receive those blessings.

Job was as prosperous as a person could be in regards to material wealth, but he was also a man who honored God in all he did. Even when he lost everything he continued to honor God. And what did God do? God restored Job’s wealth…and then some.

So the LORD blessed Job in the second half of his life even more than in the beginning. For now he had 14,000 sheep, 6,000 camels, 1,000 teams of oxen, and 1,000 female donkeys.

Job 42:12 NLT

Your God is a God of an abundance of every kind of wealth. He is willing, ready, and able to share it with you if you will only get close enough to Him for that to happen.
