If My People Pray

by Pastor Ken

2 Chronicles 7:14

If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves, pray, seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Personalize the promise God gives in today’s verse by putting your name in the blanks. Then believe with your whole heart that God’s promises are for you.

“If __, who is called by my name, shall humble themself, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive ___’s sin, and will heal ____’s land.”

To humble yourself means to give God first place in your life. “Humble prayer pierces the heavens, disarms the anger of God, obtains His mercies, and makes the snares of the evil one of no avail” (Thomas A. Kempis).

Prayer is pouring your heart to Jesus. “And you shall seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart” (Jeremiah 29:13).

Seeking His face means looking for God in everything. Feel His presence spiritually and emotionally, giving you the peace that passes all understanding.

Turn from your wicked ways. Let Jesus help you go from living life on your terms to living a life of complete obedience. “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9).

God promises: do this and He will hear you, will forgive you, and will send healing.

Reflection

What sins do I want Jesus to forgive? What healing do I crave? I will tell Him now.

Prayer

Holy Lord, Thank You for Your forgiveness. Please place Your healing touch on me, my family, my church, and my country. Stay with me always. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
