All things have been delivered to me by my Father. No one knows the Son, except the Father; neither does anyone know the Father, except the Son and he to whom the Son desires to reveal him.
Mr. G. was as excited as the kids at camp.
They were about to discover how satellites help people find things. Mr. G. talked about triangulation, signal speed, and mathematic formulas. He explained geocaching, gave the steps, and showed a video so the kids could see how it was done. Then off they went into the fields and forest of the camp, 50 of them divided into small groups, each group with their unique coordinates.
Some made sure they understood everything before heading out, but some rushed out enthusiastically, misunderstood the coordinates, and had to return to the classroom for help. Then the teacher gladly went back out with them to show them the way.
When everyone finally reassembled, they put together the puzzle pieces they had found in order to get the final coordinates leading to the prize.
God has given us all the coordinates we need to discover Him in the Bible. If we read it carefully and prayerfully, He will make Himself known.
Best of all, He sent His Son Jesus, the Teacher, a living example to show us the way and help us discover the ultimate prize, the compassionate heart of the Father Who is just waiting to be discovered by anyone interested in knowing Him.
When will I begin my exploration of God? Will I get up a half hour earlier so I can give Him first priority or wait until evening so He’s the last thing on my mind before I sleep?
Dear God, I want to know You. Please direct my thoughts as I read Your word every day. Show me who You are as I look at the life of Christ in the Gospels. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
