Intended Purpose

by Darla Noble

To every animal of the earth, and to every bird of the sky, and to everything that creeps on the earth, in which there is life, I have given every green herb for food” and it was so.

Genesis 1:30

Have you ever swatted a mosquito off your arm or shooed a fly (or two or three) off your picnic table set with burgers fresh off the grill? If so, I bet you’ve done so while thinking or saying something to the effect of, “I don’t know why God thought He needed to make these pesky flies (or mosquitos) because I’m pretty sure we’d be able to get along just fine without them.”

Just like God created everything we consider pesky for a specific and unique purpose, He created you for specific and unique purposes, too.

But God didn’t just stop with creating all these things. He also created everything needed to sustain each and every living element of His creation. He didn’t leave anything to chance or undone.

Isn’t that wonderful! Isn’t that amazing! Isn’t it comforting and reassuring to know that just like God gave the animals everything they need. He has done the same for you!

Pray: Lord, thank You for being a God of provision and one who wraps us in His arms with Tender Loving Care. LORD, help me live a life that expresses the thanks for what You do. In Jesus’ precious name, I pray, Amen.
