I will pray to the Father, and he will give you another Counselor, that he may be with you forever: the Spirit of truth, whom the world can’t receive, for it doesn’t see him and doesn’t know him. You know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.
How would you describe your spirit?
Is it haughty or humble? High and mighty? Rich or poor? Changeable or constant? How about holy?
Just as we cannot save ourselves, we cannot have a Holy Spirit on our own. The Holy Spirit is divine. It is Jesus’ final parting gift to us before He left this earth.
The Holy Spirit is God’s spirit. It counsels us, offers guidance, and fills us with God’s divine presence. It is available to every person on the planet, for free, at any time.
So how do you receive the Holy Spirit?
Acts 2:38 plainly tells us: “Peter said to them, ‘Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.’”
We receive the Holy Spirit following our repentance and our baptism.
The Holy Spirit is a precious gift from God. It can guide and direct your life, protect you, teach you, comfort you, and give you the strength to be the person God created you to be. Won’t you let the Holy Spirit fill you, today and always?
What words would I use to describe my spirit?
Dear God, I repent of all my sins. Thank You for the precious blood of Jesus that washes me clean. Please fill me with Your Spirit. I want to live by the power and leading of the Holy Spirit. In the name of Jesus I pray, Amen.
